1. What this app is
Holiday Log is a personal tool for tracking annual leave, holidays, and time off. It is a private application not intended for public use.
2. Information we collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address. We store holiday entries and related data that you create within the app.
3. Information about other people
You can save the people you travel with as "friends" — a name, and optionally an email address. Email addresses are used for one thing only: inviting that person to the calendar event for a holiday you have added them to, and only when you have turned that on for them.
These addresses are encrypted before they are stored, so they are not readable in the database or in any backup of it. They are never used for marketing, never shared with anyone else, and are sent only to your own calendar provider when you sync a holiday.
If a holiday is shared, a companion can open a read-only view of that trip by entering their email address and the code from the calendar invite. That sets a cookie on their device for 30 days, and records which trip they opened and when. They see the dates, destination, flights and which days to book off — never your leave balance, your notes, or anything about your other holidays. The trip's owner can issue a new code at any time, which signs everyone out.
If someone would like their details removed, the person who added them can delete or archive them on the Friends page, or you can contact us to have them erased.
4. How we use your information
Your information is used solely to provide the app's functionality — authenticating you and associating your data with your account. We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising or analytics.
5. Data storage
Data is stored securely using Neon (Postgres), hosted on infrastructure within the EU. We do not transfer your data to third parties.
6. Your rights
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data.
7. Contact
For any privacy-related queries, please get in touch via the app owner directly.
